Everyone's story has a point A. There's always an ethereal point in time where the Universe decides what it's going to do with you. For me, that period has been the last twenty five years. Purgatory is slowly ending, and the life that I hope to chronicle in an autobiography when I'm 80 is finally starting to blossom. But there are catches, bumps, horrors, delays, evolutionary developments, successes and defeats. There is personal growth, mental clarity, mental anguish, expansion, restriction and a series of fated events. Sounds like a hell of a time? It is.
I don't like egotistical people. This blog isn't a declaration of self importance. This blog is however, a testament to the young, the struggling, the talented, the worthy, the sharp, the broke, the budding, the intellectual, and the passionate PERFORMER,ACTOR,MUSICIAN,WRITER, AND ENTREPRENEUR. This blog is dedicated to the future performers of tomorrow who will leave they're mark on the universal collective consciousness of pop culture and mass media.
Some guidelines: You should NOT read this blog if you: 1) Enjoy meeting people to see what they can do for you. 2) Constantly feel the desire to discuss your professional achievements in an egotistical and self righteous manner. 3) Talk about how many influential or powerful people your in touch with. 4) Are a douche bag with no substance.
With that said ... Let me explain what's happening.
I just finished portraying a lead role in an independent feature. The title of the film: "Exit 727". You can only describe this project as an amped up, adrenaline driven, musically accompanied homage to films like "Dog Day Afternoon" and "Fight Club". The live production value ended up looking phenomenal. The initial post production? Fucking nightmare horror show. So I digress ... what did I learn? You can have a well produced feature film, with a phenomenal soundtrack, great writing, great acting, and all the stars in alignment. Suddenly, some dickface editor comes along and makes altercations to a locked motion picture? Really? Then what happens? Nightmare-fuckfest, that's what. Suddenly you have audio problems, editing issues, Cannes deadlines that aren't being met, and a film in peril. However .. the proper changes are being made to this film. 36-100 seperate sets of notes can make a hell of a difference.
The film will be released in New York City this May. I worked with a great cast and crew. I was given top billing, which I'm extremly grateful for, and once the proper adjustments are made, I think this film will be extremly helpful in the next stage of career evolution.
I wish actors my age were more receptive to the work(s) of Bette Davis, Marlon Brando, Joan Crawford, James Dean etc .. If utilized and modernized correctly, the energy of yesterday can be harnessed in modern day motion picture. Right now the trend in Hollywood is to appear flawlessly beautiful on film. I think a prime example of what Hollywood currently demands is exemplified in motion pictures like "Twilight". What happend to the raw, gritty, angry, and humanistic method actors like Brando and Davis?
They exist. I'm detirmined to make it exist. I believe in it and it's working for me. Things are picking up , although not in the same way they are picking up for Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet. They are members of my generation who are already established super stars with a long career ahead of them.
I think they're accomplishments phenomenal and fascinating. However ... a Warning for you: Beware of the raw method actors that stand behind you in line.
